With J-Lo's recent name change situation, it becomes easy to forget that the Latin superstar was honored this Friday for being a role model celebrity parent at a Celebration of Babies luncheon in Beverly Hills. J-Lo, a mother of two, was recognized for her efforts and became this year's recipient of the March of Dimes Grace Kelly Award.
The award itself pays tribute to celebrity parents that emphasize the importance of parenting while also helping raise awareness for the March of Dimes effort. The effort of which is completely non-profit and looks to help improve the overall health of mothers and babies. Alongside Lopez, the President and CEO of A&E networks Nancy Dubuc and the chief of newborn medicine at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Dr. Balaji Govindaswami were also recognized for their contributions.
According to HauteLiving.com, Lopez during her speech went on to say, “Happy, healthy kids and their well-being is more important than anything else in the universe. Everything else fell away, in comparison. It’s not just about me anymore.”
Parenting is something a lot of well-known stars lack experience in and it becomes a rarity those stars fully embrace the role of parenthood. We're glad to see that J-Lo is doing her part in helping carve a role-model path for others to follow.
