When Jimmy Fallon begins hosting The Tonight Show on NBC next year, the show will have a completely different look from its recent Jay Leno years. The Saturday Night Live alum and the network unveiled the new logo for the legendary late-night show as it starts gearing up to promote the change in hosts.
Fallon tweeted the new Tonight Show logo, which features his name and the show’s title on the moon. Fallon captioned the photo with the hashtags “#FallonTonight” and “#Feb17,” reminding viewers when his tenure on the show starts.
NBC has had plenty of time to get ready for the transition from Fallon to Leno, since they named him Leno’s successor in April. The network is using the Sochi Winter Olympics as a launch pad to promote the show.
Not only is Fallon bringing members of his Late Night team to the Tonight Show, but he is also taking it back to New York.
In a recent interview with the New York Daily News, Fallon did say that he has been seeking advice from Leno.
“I've asked him if there's anything we should change with our show — anything we should do,” Fallon said. “He said we should make my monologue longer, because a lot of people work hard all day and miss the news. Jay felt that a lot of people catch up on the news from the monologue.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is also airing a special about Fallon called The Best of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Jan. 5, the first Sunday of the season without Sunday Night Football.
Fallon’s tenure on The Tonight Show starts on Feb. 17. He hosts SNL this weekend.
