Katy Perry and John Mayer did another joint interview, this time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. They debuted their music video for “Who You Love” on Good Morning America earlier this week.
In the interview, Perry explained why it’s eerily quiet in their house most of the time because the singers both often have to go on complete vocal rest.
“I understood that he couldn't talk, and the only way he could communicate was through an iPad," Perry said in the interview about Mayer’s previous vocal cord surgery, which airs Friday. "Some days I have to go on complete vocal rest, like no anything, no whispering. Whispering is actually really bad.
There's just a lot of silence in our house most of the time."
People reports during Perry’s interview, Mayer surprised her on set. He talked about loving Perry’s sense of humor and that’s why it doesn’t matter that there’s silence in the house.
"We have a lot of fun. You know, we have music as an understanding and love between each other, and we connect, and you know it's like he understands what I do because he does the same thing,” Perry gushed. “And so after a long day, if it's been tough, I don't really have to go into it. He just gets it. You know, so it's nice with that understanding."
