A jury voted that Ryan O’Neal can keep the Andy Warhol painting of his late partner, Farrah Fawcett, that’s been hanging above his bed for over three decades.
On Thursday, O’Neal, 72, found out about the jury’s verdict and although he wasn’t in the courtroom when the judge read it aloud, his sons Patrick and Redmond embraced with happiness.
As we previosuly reported, O’Neal gave a few emotional testimonies over the last month, explaining to the jury of the painting "I talk to it. I talk to her,” adding, "It's her presence in my life and her son's life. We lost her. It would seem a crime to lose it."
People reports the jury came to a 9-3 verdict in favor of O’Neal keeping the painting.
Fawcett gave all of her artwork to her alma mater the University of Texas Austin, who was trying to keep the work. Although it’s valuable, O’Neal said it’s a family heirloom that he will never consider selling. He will pass it on to his only son with Fawcett, Redmond.
