Justin Bieber’s family and friends are coming to his defense telling the world the star doesn’t need rehab. Many friends and family attended the premiere of the singer’s new film in LA and spoke up about how they felt about Justin in the media.
"There are so many lies going around," Bieber’s grandmother Diane Dale said according to Sky News. "A little bit is true but most of it is lies. It's terrible."
His grandfather Bruce Dale added, "How would you like to wake up in the morning with a camera shoved in your face? I don't blame him for acting out. I would."
Bieber's mother Pattie Mallette defended her son, saying, "I think sometimes people dehumanize celebrities and I think what's so great about this movie is that you get to see his humanity, the really sensitive side."
Jon Chu, who directed the film as well as his first movie, said the singer had "always been a troublemaker" but said he wouldn’t have come back if he didn’t like who he was according to USA Today.
Bieber has been in the media spotlight quite a lot this past year. He was criticized for being late to concerts and even passed out on stage at one. The Canadian pop star was also hit by a bottle during a gig in Brazil which caused him to walk off stage.
He also had trouble with customs when his pet monkey was taken from him for not having proper paperwork and then he got in trouble with Sweden police for having drugs on his tour bus.
The star split from girlfriend Selena Gomez but recently admitted he still has feelings for her.
