Katy Perry revealed during an interview that she went without alcohol for three months following her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand.
"You know, I did a lot of different things," she said during the interview on Alan Carr: Chatty Man, according to the Daily Mail. "I surrounded myself with my good friends, I did this whole cleanse where I didn't have any alcohol for three months -- that was devastating -- I did vitamins and supplements, and hikes and meditation and prayer."
According to the 29-year-old singer, there wasn’t just one thing that helped her move on with her life. Th singer claimed there was something “cosmically happening that was looking out for me in some ways. But I was putting my best positive foot forward."
Perry’s positivity definitely didn’t come easy. The “Who You Love” singer said a lot of negativity was trying to enter her mind and her confidence was shaken but she has proven that she can overcome tough times.
That time of her life even inspired her new album Prism. "It's a record of me going inside, and [doing] a lot of self-reflection, and figuring out, like, 'Where can I make areas of myself better, or what responsibility can I take?'" She said according to Us Weekly. She says rather than pointing the blame at someone else or herself she took a step back to see how she could fix the problem.
Perry definitely seems to be in a much better place in her life now. Her relationship with fellow musician John Mayer seems to be going well. She told Ellen DeGeneres, "We have music as an understanding and love between each other and we connect.”
