Kristen Stewart has been named the new face of Chanel, appearing in ads for the pre-fall collection. The campaign will launch next Monday.
The Twilight Saga star, 23, attended Chanel’s métiers d’art collection runway show in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday. She wore leather trousers and followed the trend of wearing a shirt tied around her waist.
The pairing was first reported by Women’s Wear Daily, who showed Stewart posing with Karl Lagerfeld at yesterday’s show.
Stewart is the latest actress to star in a Chanel campaign, following in the footsteps of Diane Kruger, Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively and Tilda Swinton.
She has worked in the fashion world before, modeling for Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance ads. She is friends with designer Nicolas Ghesquiere.
Huffington Post notes Stewart Marie Claire Australia last year about her love of fashion, "I'm a huge fan of the fashion world now that I've been allowed to be a part of it, even if oftentimes I don't even know what I'm wearing.”
Over the summer it was reported that Stewart's ex, Robert Pattinson, was the face of men's fragrance Dior Homme.
