Nigella Lawson's assistant Anzelle Wasserman denied the claim that the celebrity chef was to sit down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey while in court on Wednesday.
As previously reported, it was claimed that Lawson would have a "tell-all" interview with Oprah about her current court case against the Grillo sisters and her drug habit, which she has since admitted to - though not to the extreme that is alleged.
The Daily Mail had even claimed that a source spoke about her friends egging The Taste judge on to go to Oprah as it would help her with American audiences.
Well Wasserman says that was wrong, Variety reports. Turns out Francesca Grillo's defense attorney Karina Arden made the claim, saying the deal would happen after the court case gets resolved.
Arden even asked Wasserman about it: "You know, don't you, that Miss Lawson has signed an exclusive agreement with Oprah Winfrey in January?" Lawson's assistant replied that the claim was wrong saying, "That's not correct," though she did not elaborate.
Variety was also told by a source at OWN that there weren't any plans for an interview with Lawson.
