Oprah Winfrey restarted her book club in 2012, renaming it Book Club 2.0, and her newest selection is Sue Monk Kidd's latest book The Invention of Wings.

The only problem with naming that book is that it hasn't even been published yet and won't hit shelves until Jan. 7, USA Today reports.

Oprah sounded excited as she talked up the book, noting that it will "wow" readers and that it is "layered and gripping."

The Secret Life of Bees author's latest work is about two women who yearn for freedom during the 19th century, with one being an urban slave in a higher-class household.

According to Los Angeles Times, Oprah said of the book, "The moment I finished 'The Invention of Wings,' I knew this had to be the next selection." She noted that the book had "strong female characters" and Kidd provides a rich story.

Oprah restarted the book club in 2012 and the inaugural book selected was Cheryl Strayed's memoir Wild.

Kidd released a happy statement, saying, "I'm thrilled and honored that Oprah Winfrey chose my novel as her new book club selection."
