Oprah Winfrey might take care of hundreds of young ladies at her Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, but the media mogul recently revealed that she has no desire to be a mother.

"If I had kids, my kids would hate me," Winfrey told The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the TV personality claimed that her children would have suffered because of the time she’s had to dedicate to her career.

"(My friend) Gayle (King) was the kind of kid who, in seventh grade home ec class, was writing down her name and the names of her children," Winfrey said.

"While she was having those kind of daydreams, I was having daydreams about how I could be Martin Luther King."

In addition to hosting The Oprah Winfrey Show for 25 seasons and starting her cable TV network, OWN, Winfrey was also recently nominated for a Screen Actor's Guild award for her work in Lee Daniels' The Butler, New York Daily News reported.

And while she has yet to make a trip down the aisle, Winfrey and her partner Stedman Graham have been going strong since 1986.

She might not have children of her own, but the 59-year-old Oscar winner still gets to participate in some maternal activities thanks to the children at her South African school, who she emails frequently and visits twice a year.

"I'm responding to everything from 'I'm feeling lost' to 'I need advice about a boy,'" she told the Hollywood reporter.
