Paul Walker had been in film and television long before he was cast in 2001’s The Fast and The Furious, but that franchise made him a star. The actors who worked with him on the films have been issuing statements the past two days since his death on Saturday. The latest to pay tribute are Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Luke Evans.
Brewster had previously issued a story statement on Facebook and Twitter, writing, “Paul was pure light. I cannot believe he is gone.” She decided to issue a lengthier statement today, calling him an “enormous presence in my life for the past fourteen years,” notes EW.
“While many would be satisfied with material success it made Paul more convinced of the need to help others,” Brewster continued. “He never spoke of his immense generosity or philanthropic endeavors unless I prodded, however. This is what made Paul, Paul.”
Evans recently spoke with MTV News while promoting the new Hobbit movie. He worked with Walker on Fast 6 and said that he’s still “processing” the news. Evans called Walker a “wonderful man” who made sure he felt comfortable on the set.
"It's tragic," Evans said. "It's untimely and painful for everybody who knew him personally and publicly."
According to E! News, Walker and Rodriguez first worked together on the first Fast film and she came back for the sixth and the upcoming seventh. She wrote the following message on Twitter:
I'm gonna carry this torch for you brother, with a forced smile on my face and Im gonna open my heart just cause your telling me to.
