Shaunie O'Neal, creator of the popular VH1 series Basketball Wives, recently made a deal with VH1 to create another reality show centered around the daily life of her and family, entitled The Shaunie Project. The show is meant to be a spin-off of the Basketball Wives franchise, due to it's impending end. Apparently, all the kinks have been worked out and shooting is slated to start in January of 2014.
However,HipHollywood reports that there is one small problem: her ex-husband, basketball star Shaquille O'Neal, is against their children being on the show.
Shaunie and the producers want the kids involved in order to make the reality show more family friendly. Shaq, on the other hand, believes that the show will start out wholesome, but will end up just like Basketball Wives --full of unnecessary drama that is definitely not a positive thing for their five children, which he shares joint custody of.
TMZ also reported that on December 19th, the court battle began, and Shaq came out victorious in the end. This is an obvious setback for the ex-basketball wife, and we can be sure that the producers will not be happy about it.
