Shia LaBeouf could be in legal trouble after plagiarism claims have risen over his new short movie and a comic.
According to Publishers Weekly, both publisher Melville House and Fantagraphics have admitted that they are looking into whether or not to pursue legal action against the actor.
Melville House publishes the Benoit Duteurtre's novel The Little Girl and the Cigarette, which the Transformers actor used to borrow pieces of for a mini-comic that he made, called Stale N Mate. Publisher Dennis Johnson said that Melville are "exploring all legal actions" and said that they have not talked with LaBeouf over the plagiarism claims.
Fantagraphics, which produced the Daniel Clowes work Justin M. Damiano, which LaBeouf plagiarized word-for-word in HowardCantour.com echoed a similar response as Melville House as they investigate claims.
It was previously reported that LaBeouf allegedly has plagiarized work before. He also put together a comic called My F**king Party, which also borrowed from another, this time Charles Bukowksi.
It has also been noted that the actor's apology tweets have been similar to how others have apologized in the past, even going so far as to be extremely similar.
