Simon Pegg landed the role of Neil Clarke in Terry Jones’ Monty Python comedy Absolutely Anything. Pegg will play a school teacher who is given magical powers by aliens.
Additional casting is still underway but Terry Jones, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin will all voice the aliens while Robin Williams will voice Clarke’s dog, according to Entertainmentwise.
Pegg is very excited for his chance to work with the Monty Python gang. “As someone whose love of comedy was hugely informed by Monty Python, the chance to work with Terry was a gift. Meeting your heroes is one thing, working with them is something else,” he said. He also posted the news to his Twitter.
Speaking of my continuing struggle to be taken seriously as an actor. http://t.co/a7jKjmKWSI
