Fox made several announcements on Friday regarding tweaks made to its midseason schedule, involving two freshmen programs, Dads and Sleepy Hollow, and the premiere of The Following.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sleepy Hollow will have a two-hour season finale instead just one on Monday, Jan. 20. With Ichabod Crane sticking around for an extra hour, that means that Fox will be changing the plans the network made regarding The Following's second series premiere.
The Following will still air its premiere after the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 19. Originally on Monday the show would then air the next episode ala Almost Human, but with a longer Sleepy Hollow finale, Following episode two has been pushed back until the following week where it will settle into its normal Monday night slot.
Another Fox freshman show, comedy Dads was provided an actual set number back order of six episodes, giving the first season a total of 19 episodes, Deadline reports. The Seth Green-led show received a back order in October, but Fox wouldn't commit on a set number of episodes.
The reduced pickup likely has to do with the show's weak ratings and that after Feb. 11, the show gets kicked off the air for Glee.
