The FX hit Sons of Anarchy reached a season high with their dramatic season finale ending. The biker drama, helmed by Kurt Sutter, brought in over 5.2 million viewers.
Deadline reported that this set a record for FX's Sons of Anarchy season finales and was the third-most-watched episode in the show's history.
The show that is the number one most watched episode for the hit biker drama was September’s season 6 premiere. The season premiere eposide featured a very controversial school shooting at the conclusion of the eposide.
This season of Sons was one of the most successful seasons of the show, drawing in an average of 7.3 million viewers. Sons of Anarchy will return for its seventh and final season in the fall of 2014, reported E! Online.
When the original airing of the show and encore showings are combined, the finale was watched by a total of 6.4 million viewers.
This season finale was emotional and featured the death of a major member in the cast that had been around the show from the very beginning. This now sets up the show to really examine it's main character, Jax Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam and see how he can handle this emotional loss.
Sons of Anarchy is expected to return for its seventh and final season in fall 2014.
