Tom Cruise has settled the lawsuit he launched against the tabloid Bauer Publishing, which publish In Touch and Life & Style magazines, out of court for a headline in which they accused the actor of abandoning his daughter, Suri.

Public relations director Lindsay Ferraro confirmed the issue "has been settled,” and the terms “were not disclosed and remain confidential."

CNN reports that Ferraro added the headline has not "intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter, Suri, and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published.”

We reported back in November that Cruise defended himself in the $50 million lawsuit, claiming "As my numerous emails with Suri's mother during this time period demonstrate, I was a constant presence in Suri's life,” despite shooting two films.

He also said of his daughter, now 7, with his ex-wife Katie Holmes, "I have in no way cut Suri out of my life -- whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise. Even during the times when I was working overseas and was not able to see Suri in person, we were (and continue to be) extremely close."

Holmes filed for divorce from the Top Gun actor back in 2011 and in a deposition for this lawsuit, Cruise admitted the break-up was in aprt caused by Holmes’ reservations about his controversial religion Scientology.
