NBC’s The Voice ended its fifth season on a down note, but it performed well enough to lead the network to a victory in the ratings. However, CBS had some help with NCIS and averaged the most viewers on the night.
Starting over at CBS, the network averaged 15.6 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating. NCIS kicked things off with 19.4 million viewers and a 2.8 key demo rating, notes HitFix. NCIS: LA had 15.3 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating, while Person of Interest had 12 million viewers and just a 1.9 rating.
NBC averaged 11.54 million viewers, but its 3.3 overall 18-49 rating lead the night. The Biggest Loser had just under 7 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating. According to TheWrap, The Voice’s two-hour finale had 13.8 million viewers and a 3.9 18-49 rating, down 20 percent from last year. Tessanne Chin won this season of the show, which will be back in February.
ABC, Fox and The CW decided not to compete and scheduled repeats all night. At 10 p.m., ABC did air a new What Would You Do, which had 2.48 million viewers and just a 0.7 18-49 rating.
