NBC is having a banner week and one they certainly wish they could replicate in the future. Thanks to last night’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting special, the network earned the top rating in the key demographic for the fourth night in a row.

However, CBS did earn the most viewers, averaging 8.9 million, notes TheWrap. It averaged a 1.9 18-49 rating overall. Survivor kicked off the night with 10.6 million viewers and a 2.6 18-49 rating, so it was the night’s most-watched show. After that, the network had a slate of reruns.

Back over to NBC, which averaged 8.2 million viewers but had a 2.5 18-49 rating. THe Christmas special had 9.9 million viewers and a 2.3 key demo rating. NBC said that this was a 10 percent jump over last year’s special and 21 percent over the 2011 special. It’s also the network’s best showing in the Wednesday slot since a special Voice episode in May.

An SNL Christmas special followed with 7.4 million viewers and a 2.6 18-49 rating.

ABC had a 1.9 rating and 6.4 million viewers. The network aired all new shows, many of which reached new season lows. Even Modern Family had a low 9.4 million viewers and a 3.1 rating.

Fox’s X Factor averaged 5.3 million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating.
