This episode started off with Peter and Clinton chatting in the office. Peter has become extremely suspicious of Neal, specifically why he was standing in the same spot for 20 minutes that had a view of a museum, 2 banks, and lots of wealthy apartments. Clinton asks Peter if he thinks Neal is hiding something about the murder of David, but he says no, but still believes he is up to something, there is too much coincidence with the chiropractor and the missing money.

Peter and Neal head to the docks where a crate from Canada just arrived. They open the container and inside was a fossilized dinosaur egg that a private owner had until 3 months ago when he died. They brought the egg to a scientist at the Natural History Museum who was glad to have the egg, but told them there was another crate with the mother T-Rex fossil.

Back at his apartment, Neal is trying to figure out the stained glass window with Mozzie and Rebecca. Rebecca, believing the Codex is related to the Masons, thinks Moscone was murdered because he was involved with them. After discussing it a little, Mozzie was clearly not happy with Neal for pursuing a relationship with Rebecca. Neal walks her to the door and asks her to dinner. When he returns, Mozzie is standing there with a folder filled of things he investigated about Rebecca.

To find the lost dinosaur fossil Peter and Neal are trying to see who would be a potential buyer. Forsythe, a very rich man, makes it to the top of their list. Peter goes to visit Forsythe who denies taking the fossil, though he has many displayed in his office. Peter and Neal head back to the office, but Neal says they should stakeout Forsythe's office so he turns around and goes to pose as a maintenance man. While inside, Neal spots some rare clubs, and then discovers a secret room. While inside, he finds a briefcase full of money, but quickly has to hide because Forsythe was returning. Meanwhile, Peter begins to investigate a man they believed worked with Forsythe, Michael Holtz. They discovered Holtz bought a plane ticket and pretended to leave the country, but is actually wondering around the museum looking for the egg.

Later that night Neal brings Rebecca on a date to a nice restaurant. Rebecca believes Neal is an FBI Agent, but he decides not to correct her. Peter and Elizabeth show up, planning to double date with them even though Neal had no idea they were coming. Elizabeth and Rebecca go to see if they can find a table while Neal and Peter chat. Peter is really upset that Neal is impersonating an agent, but Neal says he just never corrected her. Neal says she doesn't look at him like he is a criminal, and he doesn't want that to go away. Peter realizes Neal actually likes her, so Peter and Elizabeth leave them to have a romantic dinner alone. As they are walking to their table, Peter receives a call from the scientist at the museum. She says she went back to her lab to run some test, but that someone is trying to break in.

Peter and Neal rush to the lab, only to find the scientist held at gunpoint. Neal and Peter are able to arrest the gunman, who confirms that he works for Forsythe.

In order to catch Forsythe, Mozzie constructs a fake dinosaur egg and puts a tracker in it. They are going to sell this one to Forsythe, hoping he will place it next to the stolen T-Rex fossil that it belongs with. Neal goes to deliver the egg, but something goes wrong. Trying to protect himself, Forsythe begins to scan the egg to make sure its real. Luckily Peter was there to distract him, while Neal is able to swap the cat-scan the scientist took with the one Forsythe is doing. Neal gets away with it, and Forsythe believes its real. After the transaction, Forsythe goes to his storage unit to reunite the egg with the other fossil, just as they suspected. The FBI tracks him down and takes him into custody.

The next day Peter and Neal go to the museum to see the scientist and the new exhibit of the egg and fossil. Neal goes over to Peter and Elizabeths for dinner, where they give him the third degree about Rebecca. They tell him he should really tell her the truth. Later that night Rebecca goes to visit Neal at his apartment. Taking their advice, Neal shows Rebecca his ankle bracelet, and tells her he isn't an agent just an informant. She says she doesn't care, and goes to lock the door.

When walking to work the next day, Neal sees Hagen outside talking to June, a close friend of Neal's. Hagen says he was supposed to bring him the Codex, and is now in serious trouble.
