Klondike, the miniseries currently on the Discovery channel, brought in 3.4 million viewers over the first two installments.

Klondike is the story of gold adventurers in the Yukon Wilderness during the 1890s. It is based on Charlotte Gray’s novel “Gold Diggers,” according to Variety. It is a scripted series and features Richard Madden as Bill Haskell and Augustus Pew as Byron Epstein. They trek in the outdoors and find themselves in astonishing circumstances. Tim Roth, Sam Shepard, and Ian Hart also star in the series. Klondike is a co-production between Discovery, eOne and Nomadic Pictures, in association with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.

It seems to appeal across demographics, and it is gaining in viewership. The scripted series averaged a 2.3 rating among men 25-54. Among adults 25-54, it was somewhat softer, with a 1.7 rating, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The fictional show is a complement to the reality series on the Discovery Network, Gold Rush. Gold Rush airs on Friday on the Discovery Network, and it follow real life crews looking for gold.
