Wallander, the popular show starring Kenneth Branaugh, is set to air on the BBC. The series is based on Henning Mankell's best-selling detective novels. Henning Mankell is a popular author in Sweden.
Wallander features Kenneth Branaugh as Kurt Wallander, a tough-drinking Nordic detective who chases criminals in Southern Sweden. The series also stars Sarah Smart and Richard McCabe. Wallander was ranked as BBC4’s top imported drama in 2009 and 2010, according to Variety.
It’s likely that the popular detective series will be getting an even larger audience, now that Zodiak has secured sales ofWallander's third season to Australia and New Zealand (High Gloss Entertainment). Wallander can also be seen in CIS countries (Mauris Business), Poland (Canal+), Iceland (Ruv) and the former Yugoslavia (Kip), according to The Hollywood Reporter. The third season of Wallander is based on Mankell's last novel, The Troubled Man, and other original stories.
Kenneth Branaugh is known as an actor, writer, and director.
He has acted in Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, and My Week with Marilyn. The fourth season of the Wallander is set to air on BBC later this year.
