The first season of The X Factor in Israel proved to be quite popular with the Israeli viewing audience.

The show in Israel follows format with Simon Cowell’s popular show currently seen in America on Fox. It is a talent show featuring over 25 contestants. The X Factor is also popular in other countries, with versions of the show currently airing in Denmark, Hungary and Ukraine, according to Variety.

On The X Factor in Israel, Rose Fostanes, 47, took home the prize. Fostanes performed “If I Ain’t Got You” as a duet with Israeli singer, Shiri Maimon. The X Factor in Israel finale drew an average of 1.04 million viewers, a household share of 55.7 percent, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bar Refaeli hosted the show. Refaeli, 28, was a cover girl for Sports Illustrated, and is known for her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio.

In Israel, Channel 2 has two companies that air shows for the small screen. Reshet Broadcasting brought The X Factor from Syco, and features reality shows as well as talent competitions.
