The 56th Grammy awards kicked off with Mr. and Mrs. Carter taking the stage performing “Drunk In Love.” Beyonce was sporting a short hairstyle and looked absolutely amazing in a black body suit and started off the award show with a hot, steamy and sexy performance. The performance brought the audience to their feet.

LL Cool J hosted the show and had an interesting opening speech, explaining how music transformed his life and even had some fun word play with his opening act.

Anna Kendrick and Pharrell Williams presented the award for best new artist. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took home the award for best new artist.

Lorde took the stage next to perform, “Royals” which has two nominations this evening. Lorde had a unique performance, which featured intense movement, and her signature vocal style that shocked the airwaves this year.

Hunter Hayes took the stage to perform a new single off of his upcoming album, “Invisible.” The single was an emotional take on what life is like growing up and experiencing hard times.

Pop Duo/Group Performance was the next award to be given out during the evening. The Grammy went to Get Lucky, which was performed by Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams.

Katy Perry kept the show moving with her performance of her latest single, “Dark Horse.” Perry had a fairytale inspired theme for her performance and looked beautiful on stage in a “witch” like costume.

Up next was Robin Thicke took the stage with legendary band Chicago for an unexpected collaboration.

Keith Urban took the stage to perform his latest single, “Cop Car” which was featured on his album, Fuse.
