With the winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars returning, there are big questions that were answered last season that we need to be reminded of. There were answers that we have been searching for answered and there were bigger questions asked.
Pretty Little Liars follows four girls: Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily and all of their friends. One year before the series started, the girls were having a sleep over and their other (vindictive) friend, Alison, went missing. No one knew where she was. Then, on the anniversary of Alison’s disappearance, they found a body and everyone assumed that Alison was dead.
After Alison was dead, a character named A began stalking them. A would blackmail them and get them to do things that they normally wouldn’t do. There were character deaths and bad romances along the way that A would use to make the girls look guilty. The first A turned out to be Hanna’s friend Mona.
After Mona was revealed to be A, a new A took over. The girls then assumed that there wasn’t just one A. There was an A-team. The girls questioned who was on their team and who killed Alison. Turns out that the leader of the A-team was someone wearing a red coat.
That is where season four leaves us. On the summer finale of season four, that is where some of the questions were answered. These are five things that you need to know before watching the Season Four winter premiere.

5. Caleb moved to Ravenswood
While it is very strange why Caleb stayed in Ravenswood with a complete stranger, he is no longer in Rosewood. Caleb is now a citizen of Ravenswood and the lead on the television show, Ravenswood. Because Caleb recently left, the jury is still out deciding if the void of Caleb will affect Hanna’s well-being at all.
I know I’ll miss Caleb’s cute overprotection and steamy scenes with Hanna. I guess there is hoping that he visits Rosewood every once and a while. But, Ravenswood is so good that we can forgive him for leaving.

4. Cece killed Detective Wilden
Well, Cece allegedly killed Wilden. I understand that she is innocent until proven guilty but everybody knows she did it. Travis, a guy that tried to pay off Hanna, told the police that it wasn’t Ashley Marin that killed the dirty cop rather it was a blonde girl that looked a lot like Cece.
As the viewers also discovered, Cece is red coat. Also, she has been on A’s payroll. She was being paid to dress up in a red coat and distract the pretty little liars. It worked because they did chase her everywhere.

Not only is Cece running from the law, she might also be a bionic woman. After Aria was chasing her in a warehouse, Cece fell off a ledge onto the hard concrete floor. When they went down, expecting to see her dead body, they found that she had survived the fall and ran away.

3. There are still quite a few unsolved cases
We know that Nate killed Maya and Cece probably killed Wilden. But, who killed Garrett and who killed Ian. And who killed whomever is in Alison’s tomb? More importantly, we don’t know who stole “Alison’s” body and put it on the Halloween train. There are tons of unsolved cases in Rosewood these days. I feel like we need to talk about those before moving on to bigger problems.
Pretty Little Liars has a problem with forgetting to answer questions that were asked a long time ago. Remember how Ian was pushed off a bell tower, hung and then had his body removed before the girls could show anyone he was actually dead? Who did that? The murder of Ian is still unsolved.
Garrett, another dirty cop, was murdered as well and put into a box with Aria. Either Melissa or Wilden murdered Garrett on a train. Or maybe it was Ezra? He was there. It’s difficult to tell. I’m sure we’re never going to find that out. He seemed innocent too. Dude will never get to clear his name and all of the information he was going to tell Spencer died with him. But who did it?
A big mystery was who stole Alison’s remains and tried to frame Emily for it. For a while, Spencer, Aria and Hanna believed that Paige did it. Then, it turns out that Paige was completely innocent. When they found the body on the train, it seemed like the case was closed. Nobody cared anymore. (Let’s not even mention that it wasn’t even Alison’s body.)

2. Ezra is A
It was the shock of the season. Ezra, the hot teacher dating his student, is also secretly watching them and trying to find Alison who he may or may not have tried to kill. At least, that is what it seems like. In the finale, the girls were chasing red coat, only to find A’s nest of money and computers and secret spy stuff. They were surprised to find men coats there. Then, after they left, Ezra came in, angry that they had found this area.
Keep in mind that last season everyone believed that Toby was on the A-team and was plotting against the girls. In the first season, everybody thought Caleb was helping Jenna because she was A. Also, the girls believed that Paige, Emily’s girlfriend, was A and killed Maya. Now, it’s Ezra’s turn to be implicated.
We’ll see if Ezra is actually helping the girls or if he is a regular, run-of-the-mill creep. I hope there is a little more of a twist. Maybe Ezra has an evil twin? Even if he were a creep, would it be awkward if Aria dated his brother? They were pretty cute together.

1. Alison is alive
Ok, so it isn’t that big of a shock. Basically everyone knew that she was alive. And, seeing Ali at the end of the Halloween episode was kind of underwhelming. She didn’t say who tried to kill her. She didn’t say anything really. She was just like- hey! I’m alive. See you guys later. Very disappointing.
I have to say, Alison being alive is very confusing. Since she is alive, the police and coroner are completely incompetent. They said a random body in a hole was Alison. Aren’t there tests for that? It clearly wasn’t her. We’ll just have to see what happens.
Another question we should ask is, how does a 15 year old fake her own death and escape the police without anyone knowing? Alison is smart and vindictive, I admit that, but pulling off a fake death is pretty difficult.
