The ‘70s duo, Captain & Tennille, who sang the famous song “Love Will Keep Us Together” has decided to call it quits on their almost 40-year marriage.
Toni Tennille, whose real name Cathryn Antoinette Tennille, 73, filed the paperwork on Thursday in Arizona. Captain, real name Daryl Dragon, 71, didn’t know why she had filed.
When TMZ caught up with Dragon he told them they’re still living under the same roof and "I don't know why she filed. I gotta figure it out for myself first."
The divorce documents mention something about health insurance coverage, which leads to speculation that Tennille filed for divorce in order to better cover her husband’s medical bills for Parkinson's.
Tennille revealed the Parkinson’s diagnosis in a blog post in 2009. She updated fans again in 2010.
Captain & Tennille won the 1975 Grammy for record of the year for “Love Will Keep Us Together,” and they also have a string of hits under their belt such as "Muskrat Love" and "Do that to Me One More Time."
