There is no word on whether Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for an 11th season. However, despite the departure of cast member Sandra Oh, two cast members have been confirmed for two more seasons.

According to E! News, Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey signed two-year contracts to continue playing the characters of Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd.

Even though the loss of Sandra Oh could have put the long-running drama in danger of ending, it appears ABC’s Paul Lee is confident in the show continuing strong.

At the TCA Event, Lee told reporters he felt Grey’s would continue. According to E! Online, Lee stated, “[Executive producer] Shonda Rhimes is one of the greatest writers that our generation has seen. She's continuing to write an immensely powerful show. It makes you laugh and cry every week, and what season are we now? And by the way, to her enormous credit, it is completely different than Scandal. And I love it. I think it's going to stay on the network for many years to come."

With contracts for Pompeo and Dempsey squared away, it is now a question of whether Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson will re-sign. According to Deadline, their contracts “are up at the end of this season.”
