A couple from Andalusia, Alabama decided to honor The University of Alabama by naming their newborn baby 'Krimson Tyde'.
Summer and Steven Steele who, according to Daily Mail, are parents to two other boys, welcomed baby Krimson into the world on December 17, 2013.
When asked why they chose such a unique appellation, Summer Steele told Alabama Media Group,"The reason we named him Krimson is that we are big Alabama fans and it is a very unique name and we loved it.” However, not everyone loves the name as much as they do.
Even though the Steels aren't the first family to name their child after a sports team, they were well aware that the name was different. However, they did not expect to gain as much attention as they have. Steele also commented,"I'm very shocked, I didn't think people would make a very big deal about it," In response to the people who took to social media in order to ridicule and chastize their parents for their name choice, "To people speaking negatively about us naming him Krimson, it's not their child nor family member so if they have nothing nice to say they don't need to say nothing at all,"
