After her Twitter comeback went viral and caught the media’s attention, comedian Jay Mohr apologized for insulting the gorgeous actress Alyssa Milano after a NASCAR event the two attended.

Mohr and the Mistresses actress both attended NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series awards show in Las Vegas back in Dec. 6. The New York Daily News reports that Mohr, who hosted the event, then did a radio interview, in which he couldn't remember Milano’s first name. That didn’t stop him from insulting her.

“She was one of the presenters. ... She’s very tiny. In height. t seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a sh*t ... I read it on her gut,” Mohr reportedly said. He then referred to her as “Melissa what’s-her-name,” adding, “Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.’”

Milano, whose son Milo is now 2, then came up with a classy response on Twitter, when went viral. “So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me,” she wrote. “Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.”

People notes that Mohr did finally send an apology on Thursday. “She's stunning,” he tweeted. “I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have [been] taken as a joke. #fail.”

Mohr is also a parent, since he and his wife Nikki Cox welcomed a son in 2011. He recently appeared on ABC's Suburgatory. Milano, who starred in Charmed, currently stars on ABC's Mistresses
