American Horror Story concluded its Coven season on Wednesday night and went out to strong numbers, ranking as the best finale for the show yet.

Deadline reports that the finale episode, along with encore showings, managed a combined 6 million viewers. Four million of which were in the advertiser important 18-49 demographic.

Those viewing numbers are up 85 percent over last year and a 72 percent improvement in the demo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the initial showing of the finale managed 4.24 million viewers and a 2.2 in the rating, which was still an improvement of 22 percent over last finale's demo rating.

Coven has done extremely well for FX, proving to be one of the more popular seasons of the show. The premiere managed to set a new record for AHS with 5.54 million viewers.

The numbers were so good for the show that AHS was actually the third rated cable drama for the year, losing out only to the ratings juggernauts that are The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.
