Oscar winner Anne Hathaway was caught in a riptide while vacationing in Hawaii and had to get rescued by a local surfer who heard her screams for help.
The surfer pulled the Les Miserables star, 31, out of the water and performed CPR on her, however, not with a few hiccups on the way. Hathaway apparently cut her foot on a reef as she was being pulled back in to shore.
According to TMZ, despite bleeding, her husband Adam Shulman performed a move that is believed to remove toxins from the body – sucking on her toe.
He then got a first-aid kit and took care of her, bandaging her up and comforting her, Huffington Post reports.
Hathaway didn’t let the scary incident ruin her trip, as she was seen later in the day posing for pictures with fans on the beach. She seemed like she was in good spirits as she strolled the beach with her husband in a bikini and blue sarong.
