Anne Hathaway has become an acting legend, landing her to be a household name worldwide. However, Hathaway has not been seen in many films as of late and reveals that she felt the world was in need of a “break” from her in the film industry.
US Magazine noted recently that Hathaway had taken a small hiatus from her on-screen job and seemed to be keeping pretty quiet. Her red carpet appearances became a rarity as well leaving some to wonder why she chose to disappear so suddenly.
In an interview with the Huffington Post, the Princess Diaries star opened up while promoting her new film, Song One.
When asked about her absence in 2013, Hathaway responded, “My impression is that people needed a break from me.” Although serious in her answer, the award-winning actress was in good humor laughing as she responded.
Hathaway sparked major media attention after she reportedly disputed with fellow Les Mis costar Amanda Seyfried, over simply a dress that had looked too similar to her own. Her acceptance speeches at numerous awards ceremonies have also caused public disapproval.
Hathaway became most known for her role as Mia Thermopolis in the first and second Princess Diaries films. Other film credits include, The Devil Wears Prada, Ella-Enchanted, and the recent Les Mis. Hathaway has returned from her Hiatus in her new film Song One expected to be released sometime in 2014.
