Backstreet Boys singer, A.J. McLean, is willing to sit down with teen sensation Justin Bieber after Bieber's DUI in Miami.

McLean, who has struggled with issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, is remaining in Bieber’s corner insisting that, “He’s a good kid.”

McLean understands what it’s like to have his struggles in the public eye for everyone to see. Many of his struggles were also found in the media due to his fame in the Backstreet Boys.

According to Life & Style Magazine, McLean discussed Bieber at the Friends N’ family Pre Grammy Party Jan. 25.

“I was like now the scrutiny is so much worse because people just wanna bring you down and he did a lot of success at a very young age,” McLean said. “But I think they are blowing it out of proportion, he is doing what any 19-year-old would do…I think they are making it a little worse but if there are drugs involved I think he needs to get a bit of help.”

With the relatable circumstances, McLean then offered his own personal help in the situation.

He said that he was going to touch base with Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun to see if Bieber, “wants to do a little pow wow” so that McLean may act as a mentor to the teen.
