Brad Pitt debuted an interesting look at the Producer's Guild Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday night, and he is explaining that like most of his hairstyles, it’s for an upcoming role.

He appeared clean-shaven and with a much-shorter haircut than he usually sports. "It's for a part," he told E! News. "It's not a choice!"

According to Us Weekly, the part he’s referring to is Fury, which he’s shooting with Shia LaBeouf in the U.K.

Pitt, who’s been seeing much success with one of the awards season frontrunners 12 Years a Slave, talked about that at the event.

"It's great. It also ensures that more people are going to see it. And in my mind this is a film that only comes along once in a decade and everyone should see this,” he said. “It's that good. It's moving, it's inspirational. It's why I wanted to go into film in the first place."

Regarding co-star Lupita Nyong'o, he called her a “very special young lady” adding “we’re going to see great things from her."
