Bradley Cooper will take a slight hiatus from the movie screen to return to the Broadway stage this coming season. Cooper, known for his witty roles in films such as The Hangover trilogy, as well as the award winning American Hustle, is said to take the stage after wrapping up his latest film.

According to Broadway.com, Cooper is said to be taking the role of John Merrick in The Elephant Man Broadway revival. The American Hustle star recently played the role of John Merrick in a two-week engagement at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2012.

Although nothing has been officially confirmed, Bradley reportedly told Mail Online that he will begin rehearsals for the long-awaited revival after finishing the final scenes for his latest movie feature. The actor is reportedly playing a sniper in an upcoming Clint Eastwood film.

Cooper made his Broadway debut in 2006 alongside co-stars like Julia Roberts and Paul Rudd in Broadway’s Three Days of Rain. He has also appeared in various films including, Wedding Crashers, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Silver Linings Playbook. In 2011, People magazine appointed Cooper as the Sexiest Man Alive.
