Roger Lloyd-Pack, a British actor best known for his role on the BBC sitcom Only Fools And Horses, has died. He was 69-years-old.
His agent told the BBC that he died Wednesday night following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Sir David Jason, who appeared on the show with Lloyd-Pack, remembered him as “a very quiet, kind and unassuming actor who was a pleasure to work with.”
Jason continued, “Although he played the simple soul of Trigger in Only Fools and Horses, he was a very intelligent man and a very fine actor capable of many roles.”
The Associated Press reports that Lloyd-Pack was a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art graduate and had several TV and film roles, including Owen Newitt on The Vicar of Dibley. But he is still remembered for playing street-sweeper Trigger on Only Fools And Horses with Jason, which ran from 1981 to 1991. He made his TV debut on The Avengers.
“I shall remember him with fondness and for all the good times we had together,” Jason told the BBC.
Lloyd-Pack turned to major movies in later years, appearing in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005. He also appeared in 2004’s Vanity Fair, 1994’s Interview with a Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles and 2011’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He also starred on The Borgias.
