The new CBS comedy, Mom, premiered Sept. 23, 2013 and has since not really received the praise it deserves. The cast is a hoot and a half, the plot is fresh yet relatable, and the comedy is spot on. However for some indiscernible reason, the show has not been applauded enough for its timely arrival.
The comedy starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney had been receiving rather low approval ratings. At first the show was averaging at a rating of about 2.4 according to The LA Times, which, for the content, is low to say the least.
Allison Janney plays the part of Anna Faris’s eccentric mother very well. Both the mother and daughter team are recovering alcoholics trying, against all odds, to remain so while living under the same roof. If that doesn’t sound captivating enough, then throw in Faris’s pregnant teenage daughter ‘Violet’ played by Sadie Calvano
Thankfully the show has been getting more recognition lately, as we can see at T.V. by the Numbers. Unfortunately the only thing left to do is just enjoy the coming episodes and keep your fingers crossed for a second season.
Don’t forget Mom returns to CBS on Jan. 13, 2014 at 8:30 pm central time with its 13th episode “Hot Soup and Shingles”. Don't miss it!
