NFL on Fox studio host Curt Menefee and reporter Erin Andrews had a bizarre exchange ahead of Sunday night’s wildcard game between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers, with Menefee making an out-of-context reference to A Christmas Story.
Menefee was in the studio introducing Andrews, who was a good sport in the frigid temperatures over at Lambeau Field. While introducing her, he referenced the cult holiday movie, which was odd considering Christmas is long gone.
"Randall Cobb is back and so too to this show is our own Erin Andrews who using your Christmas Story reference, hopefully hasn't been licking the goal post in between. Your tongue working right now?" he asked her.
"So far so good. But I anticipate sounding like Flick from 'A Christmas Story'," she answered, Yahoo Sports reports.
Menefee was referencing the famous scene in which Flick – played by Scott Schwartz - gets his tongue stuck to a pole on a dare.
Andrews showed her Twitter followers how prepared she was for the game with a photo. “Batteries in and ready!!! Heated socks!!” she wrote.
