Phil Everly of the musical duo the Everly Brothers died on Friday. The 74-year-old singer died after complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His disease was caused through years of smoking and he passed away in a hospital in Burbank, California.
Clay Aiken, best known for his run on season 2 of American Idol is reportedly considering a congressional run in North Carolina. Although Aiken has not confirmed his plans, inside sources say he has been in discussions for a possible bid. Reports say that Aiken is working with political strategist Betsy Conti and is even working on gaining support for his bid.
Alicia Rhett of Gone with the Wind passed away in Charleston on Friday. The 98-year-old actress was the oldest surviving member of the popular Civil War film. Rhett played India Wilkes in the film, the sister of Leslie Howards’ character, Ashley Wilkes.
Ke$ha entered a rehab facility Friday morning to deal with an eating disorder. The 26-year-old singer entered Chicago’s Timberline Knolls rehab center. This is the same facility that singer Demi Lovato received her treatment. The “Timber” singer said in a statement, “I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder...to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
