When Seattle Seahawks fan Shawna Cook decided to get married on Feb. 2, 2014 she did so, because she thought it would be an easy date to remember. Turns out, it's the same day her favorite team will play in the Super Bowl. Now the bride-to-be is adjusting her big day for the big game.

On Feb. 2, Cook's beloved Seahawks will face the Denver Broncos in the Superbowl. While her fiancé, a San Francisco 49ers fan, isn’t too concerned about the overlap, Cook says blue and green runs in her veins.

According to Yard Barker, the wedding ceremony stars at 4:00 p.m. local time, just thirty minutes after the scheduled Super Bowl kickoff. Cook’s reception will be draped in blue and green and will feature a 60-inch television for friends and family to watch the game.

“As soon as the ceremony is over, it is going to be Seahawks central for the next hour and a half,” Cook said in an interview with King 5 News in Seattle.

Usually brides go out of their way not to share the spotlight on their wedding day, but Cook is more than happy to spend her special day watching her team.

“We’re commemorating the most awesome event in our life with the most awesome event in Seattle life,” she said.
