Kate Middleton has become a fashion forward icon as well as well-respected and highly admired socialite married to Prince William. However, the role of a Duchess may be one closer to Middleton than most would expect.
Broadway.com revealed that an 11-year-old Middleton actually took the stage in a school production of My Fair Lady. The production took place at St. Andrews School in Pangbourne, Berkshire as stated by the Daily Mail. The production apparently took place in 1993 and featured Middleton as Eliza Doolittle.
According to Daily Mail, Middleton faked a Cockney accent, in which she originally had problems imitating but soon caught on. The Duchess’s character was that of a flower girl who was instructed on how to pass off as a Duchess in the show. An extremely fitting role for Middleton, footage soon emerged of the young Middleton acting alongside Andrew Alexander who is now a constant in Downtown Abbey.
Middleton then went on to continue an interest in the performing arts as she was cast in Murder in The Red Barn at age 13. In this, she played the lead role of a young girl in which a fortune is told that she will marry a rich man. In yet another circumstance, her shows seem to be a foreshadowing of her actual life.
The Duchess reportedly had a crush on fellow actor Andrew Alexander for years until she met Prince William during her college years. Middleton and Prince William got married in 2011 after both meeting at work for the British airways as she was a stewardess and he a flight dispatcher.
