E! has apologized for the “fun fact” they provided on their online coverage ahead of the Golden Globes on Sunday, which wasn’t necessarily so “fun” for actor Michael J. Fox.

The entertainment website cited his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in 1991 as a “fun fact,” but has since apologized for being “insensitive.” The graphic wasn’t shown on television; instead it aired on their live stream of their red carpet coverage as Fox arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

"We regret the insensitive classification of Michael J Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis during our E online live stream," said E!, CNN reports. "We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologize."

Fox was nominated for best actor in a comedy for his work in NBC’s The Michael J. Fox Show, EW reports. His breakout role was in Family Ties back in the ‘80s and he became a force after starring in the Back to the Future series.
