On Monday at Fox's Television Critics Association panel, chairman Kevin Reilly explained a little more about the upcoming series Gotham and said that classic Batman characters would indeed appear on the show.
Reilly noted that Bruce Wayne will also be on the show, reports Deadline. "The show will track Bruce from a child (around 12 years old) until he puts on a cap (in the finale."
The Fox chairman also added that other classic characters would appear on the show, with the Riddler, Penguin, Joke and Catwoman being specifically mentioned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reilly made sure to add that it would be silly to do a show in the Batman universe and then not include any of the well-known characters.
"It's Gotham teetering on the edge. This is all of the classic Batman characters," Reilly said. The show will also feature Commissioner James Gordon's origin story as he is the center of Gotham.
As previously reported, the pilot will be directed by Danny Cannon. He is mostly known for directing the pilots for the CSI franchise. Cannon also will be executive producing the pilot episode.
