Syfy announced on Tuesday that the popular show Haven has been formally renewed for a fifth season and the episode order for the show has been doubled.

The normally 13-episode series will get 26 episodes for next season and they will be split between fall and the rest will later be aired next year. The show has done well in the 18-34 demographic, where the show was able to improve 11 percent during its fourth season.

Haven has done well in its Friday timeslot on Syfy and routinely ranked second in the important 18-49 demographic for original cable programs.

The show is based upon the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid and is about a former FBI agent who takes the job of a cop in Haven, Maine. During her time there she becomes aware of secrets in the town, which also might connect back to her past.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's regulars Lucas Bryant, Emily Rose and Eric Balfour are on board for the fifth season. Production is scheduled to begin on the latest season in spring.
