HBO has released a set of five small video clips over Vine to promote Game of Thrones’ season four trailer.
Entertainment Weeklyref> reported that the season four trailer will air before the premiere of HBO’s new show True Detective, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The Vines can all be found on the show's profilehref>.
Game of Thrones is based on the acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire series of books by George R.R. Martin. The third season was roughly based on the first half of the third book of the series, A Storm of Swords.
Showrunner David Benioff confirmed this when he told the Los Angeles Timeshref> that “We’re splitting the third book into two seasons. But it doesn’t necessarily map along so neatly where if you split the book in half that’s where the season ends. But that’s the idea - two seasons, one book. ”
The fourth season of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 6.
