Savvy folks at Harvard have named Helen Mirren the Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year.

The award is issued by Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest theatrical organization. It is given to performers who have made lasting contributions in Entertainment. Previous recipients have been Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Taylor, and Anne Hathaway.

Mirren, 68, told Hollywood Reporter, “How very saucy of the Hasty Pudding organization to offer me their award. As someone who adores Pudding in all its manifestations ... Suet, Christmas, Treacle, Bread and Butter, Yorkshire, Plum, Figgy, etc., etc., I am so looking forward to the famous Hasty Pudding.” Mirren will take part in the festivities in Cambridge on Jan. 30. Mirren has appeared in The Queen, Red 2, Hitchcock, and on the small screen in Glee and 30 Rock.

The Hasty Pudding Club was formed in 1795 by a group of Harvard students, who made certain that a pot of hasty pudding would be provided at every meeting. With the exception of time during the World Wars, the club has staged a comedy revue written by students each year since 1844, according to Reuters.
