Jane Lynch will be hosting the 66th annual Directors Guild of America awards and Lynch is not worried about hosting the evening.

She recently spoke about her upcoming hosting duties and explained why she is prepared for the event. "I’m an actor, so I don’t worry about standing up in front of people," said Lynch.

Lynch has hosted 2011 Primetime Emmys, “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” and is the current host of Hollywood Game Night, Varietyreported.

Lynch went on to further explain that the show is not about her but she will be putting her own style into it. "It’s about me being funny a little bit, but mostly it’s about the night itself. It’s about putting the spotlight on great artists who have done excellent work," said Lynch.

The DGA is thrilled to be having Lynch as the host of the ceremony. The DGA released a statement about the upcoming show and said that they were thrilled to have the comedy star on board.

Directors Guild of America President Paris Barclay spoke about her excitement for the award show with Lynch on board. "We are thrilled to welcome Jane Lynch as host of the DGA Awards for the very first time. I have known Jane for years, and have envied her quick wit – and her extraordinary height. She always makes the job of directing her a joy, and I look forward to her helping us honor the year’s best in film and television," said Barclay.

The awards will be taking place on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
