Fans of the humor from Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, rejoice. During a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session on Monday, Jerry Seinfeld revealed he and Larry David have something big up their sleeves.
Seinfeld was promoting his digital series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and he said he was working on a script with Seinfeld co-creator, David, that was “huge.”
“[Larry David and I] never obsess over anything that isn’t mundane. Most recent was intentional mumbling,” he explained, Variety reports. “We wrote this script for this thing that you will eventually see but I can’t reveal what it is at this time. All I can do is tell you is that it’s big, huge, gigantic. Even bigger than that Amazon package.”
He also recalled seeing David for the first time back in 1976, saying they didn’t actually speak the first day he saw him in New York, E! Online reports.
“I actually was eavesdropping on him talking to another comedian, and I wasn’t even in comedy yet. But he was leaning on my car in front of the Improv on 9th Ave and 44th Street,” he said, adding it was “the first time I ever saw him. But we didn’t talk.”
Seinfeld added when they finally did speak, sparks flew. He said they couldn’t “stop talking” and just like the humor we see in Seinfeld and Curb, “we were both obsessed with the smallest possible issue.”
He also talked about scrapped a Seinfeld plot, in which Jerry bought a handgun. He said they just couldn’t make it work and decided to pull it.
