Jonah Hill received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Donnie Azoff in the controversial film The Wolf of Wall Street. The film was about greed and living as richly as possible, but Hill ironically received low pay for his role.
According to E! Online, Hill only earned $60,000 for his work in the film. He enjoyed what he did though, and he took the role for the minimum amount he could be paid.
He was excited about the prospect of working with Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese, according to Contactmusic.com.
When he received the news about his Oscar nomination, he interviewed with Howard Stern and was "tripping out and in total shock." Hill also joked that he would have paid Scorsese to be in the movie.
This marks the second Best Supporting Actor nomination for the 30-year-old actor. Hill received his first Oscar nomination in 2011 for his role as Peter Brandt in the film adaptation of Moneyball.
