Immediately after pop star Ke$ha announced that she was entering rehab, her mother, Pebe Sebert, put the blame on the “Tik Tok” singer’s team, claiming that they bullied her over her body image. That lead to an eating disorder and a trip to rehab. Although producer Dr. Luke denied bullying Ke$ha, her mother said that bullying nearly killed her daughter.

“I've watched my beautiful, self-confident, brilliant daughter be berated and ridiculed for her looks and weight to the point that she almost died,” Sebret told People magazine in an interview published today. Ke$ha’s doctors said “it was a miracle she hadn't already dropped dead on stage,” noting that her “blood pressure and sodium levels” were shockingly low, Sebret said.

Sebret claims that Dr. Luke and former manager David Sonenberg made Ke$ha’s trouble with her body image worse. “One time on a conference call, Sonenberg was screaming, 'You need to lose weight! I don't care what you do ... take drugs, not eat, stick your finger down your throat!'” Sebret claimed. “Ke$ha was just weeping. She drove around afterward thinking about killing herself.”

Sonenberg has denied these claims, as has Dr. Luke. “It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment center, her mother is taking this approach with the media,” Dr. Luke’s rep said earlier this month.

According to The Huffington Post, just a week after her daughter said that she’s going to rehab, Sebret said that she is doing the same.

“I'm checking myself into Timberline Knolls today for post-traumatic stress disorder, at Ke$ha's urging,” Sebert told People on Jan. 11.
